Originally loose sheets bound with green twine in wooden covers made of 3-ply. Brown calf spine and inside edges. Presentation box also of 3-ply. The unattached cover is bound with green twine and has the title and printers' trademark, the two penguins, embossed in calf, glued to it.

First book published in Antarctica. Originally published : [Antarctica : s.n.], 1908 (Antarctica : Printed at the sign of 'The penguin' by Joyce and Wild ...) (Spence. Antarctic, 1095).
